Live video on domain research, hosting and wordpress setup. After keyword research procedure I pick up words for my domain in domainsbot.com. Really cool site for finding avaliable keyword options with all major extensions. And if desired domain name is not avaliable, it shows you alternative domain names to pick up.

Now when I have domain name avaliable, I purchase it at domain name reseller. I started with Godaddy, but later I moved on to namecheap.com. Decide was made since namecheap has affiliate program and included whois guard protection free for 1st year. That means when someone tries to find out details about your dopmain, the owner`s details are hidden.

So when we have domain, we have to point that domain name to domain name servers, where the site`s data will be. Since I bought domains at namecheap.org and I have hosting at Host gator, I must sign inside namecheap the servers`s name of the Host gator servers.

Why Host gator, i read all possible reviews and I found it as the most reliable hosting service. And it didnt disapoint me yet. Just opposite, when I am in trouble with something , I approach Host gator support center, where you communicate with their support with live typing. So far I had not many problems but when I had it as a learning curve, all my problems were solved in a no time. So having that kind of support is very big plus for Host gator from me.

When applying for hosting account at Host gator, be carefull to take baby plan, since you can host unlimited domains. That goes for addon domains, which are all hosted under the same IP and controled through the same Cpanel. Of course they have also reseller acount, where you can host different Ips domains.

When in Cpanel of your hosting account, you assign a new domain, to tell your hosting in which directory to put datas of this domain.

When that is done, next step is to set up wordpress. You accomplish that with Fantastico, which does all the job for you, with a few clicks. And in just few seconds, you very first wordpress is up

So you see, setting up your own wordpress blog is aint no big thing. Actually I found it extremly friendly to use, cause you must be aware, that the whole technology and its applications on internet are ready for average Joe to use it. So now you know there is no tricks and no special technical knowledge about it, you are ready to finally put your own virtual property on the world wide web.

Registering a domain name is one of the 1st hurdles to opening up shop online. Some may think this is a very basic first step and you know what? They’re right. BUT it’s the fear of the unknown, no matter how small the step, that can stop people from going any further.

You’ve been thinking about having your own website without being awesomeperson718276.blogspot.com, right? Finally deciding to bite the bullet and go for soawesome.com, right? Wouldn’t it be awesome to be kelly@soawesome.com? All you need is to learn how to register a domain name.

In this video, I go through the process of registering a new domain name from start to finish. And all under 2 minutes! It’s more like 1 minute and a half… and maybe a little less if I talked a bit less. Having an account setup with Namecheap does shave a minute or so off the time, so add that to your total if you’re just starting from scratch.

It’s time to get over that fear of not knowing how to register your own domain name. You’ve now got the backstage pass. Super easy ain’t it? So go get one already!

I use and highly recommend NameCheap. They have an affiliate program that lets people who use their service recommend them and then get a small cut of each sale – at no cost to the customer. So if you’re looking for a domain name, consider going through NameCheap and my link here. You don’t have to, of course, but if you’re registering anyway I’d greatly appreciate it.

Need a robust, but slightly more expensive, host for your webpage? I also highly recommend InMotionHosting. I have all but 1 account with them, and I’ll be moving the other one when it expires. THe extra $1-$2 bucks a month is worth it for the service you get and it weeds out the super-bottom riff-raff that go with the $3/month plans. No offense, ya’ll! hehe
